Classical Music Love
In the horn playing community, as well as the music community as a whole, it is my opinion that comradery is an absolute necessity. We each need to be able to get along, enjoy a cocktail (or beer for the straighties) after a concert, and be able to enjoy ourselves.

Thus! Click on this link. http://www.catch27.com/join.php?invite=57714 and join Catch27. It's a card game. It's a game of superficial looks and witty headlines. Plus, after an hour or two of filling out your profile and browsing other peoples', you'll actually WANT to fork out the measley $2.24 for three cards!! It's more than getting to look at pretty faces and buy new friends. (you don't get to just add people. You either are the reason they signed up, and are in their deck of cards, or you are in theirs, or you bought them in a random pack for two bucks and some change, or you bought their specific card, the price of which fluctuates dependign on market trends. :) ) And here's the catch. You make sets with your 27. That's why you trade them or buy new ones, of peopel you don't know. After you have a set off 27 similar cards, like "fat people, while eating" or "Brunettes in tiaras" you submit them to catch27, who will judge them and send you a prize, up to a new ipod. Or perhaps some chips, or a new hat. Something.

I think it would be fun if I could win an ipod for the deck called, the catch27 symphony orchestra. Therefore, I assign you the task of taking a picture of yourself in your performing attire, with your instrument, and a pland smile, and encourage all your musician friends to do the same. And join catch27 and let me use your card in my super fun game. Same rhymes with game, did you catch that? :) Look, we're already having fun!

Don't forget, use this link. http://www.catch27.com/join.php?invite=57714 and become a part of my frenzied attempts to entertain myself this summer.

x-posted more than your mom

[Current Music |Gourmet Valse Tartare - Hannibal]

Hey guys...
Im a devoted classical music fan, and being only 15 years old I find it hard to discuss anything intellectual about music with anybody. Also noticing the lack of members (no offense..noone has any taste is all....) I thought Id join and spice some things up. :D

Ok..bit about me...well evidently im 15, im a girl, I live in Australia.

My favourite composer is Dvorak *total genius*...I also love Strausse (excuse spelling...!), I love waltz's and music that is really emotional. I also have a large fondness of sountracks...I have Hannibal, Girl With A Pearl Earring and the Phantom of the Opera. the music of each of these CD's are impeccably composed...

So I hope I can form some friendships...let me know what you guys are into and if you ahve any favourites please reccommend them so that I can download them!

And on a final note..isn't it beautiful being able to go into any store and buy a classical CD of your favourite composer for the same price as a chocolate bar? ;)

Hello. I saw this community and thought that this would be an excellent place to discuss classical music. I'm not sure if you want me to say anything about myself as it pertains to the community's subject, so I will try and give a brief description of myself. Obviously, my favorite type of music is classical music, along with some opera and modern instrumental peices. I play the French Horn, and I recently joined a local orcheastra. My favorite composer would depened upon the hour of the day, but overall I would have to say Tchaikovsky. Among my favorit peices are The Planets, by Holst; and Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff. I suppose that about sums it up. By the way, would anyone happen to know of a good Horn solo, particularly one that is of a sad nature.
